We drove about and hour away to Iberia they have "parishes" here instead of counties. We did a few things there. We first toured "Shadows on the Teche" On the way you can see the frozen fountain and plants that didn't make the it. In 1834, The Shadows on the Teche was built on the banks of the Bayou Teche sugar planter David Weeks. There were four generations that lived there. This was the "Summer Home" and not the plantation. Enslaved people Build this in three years and was never lived in by David, he died before he could move in.
